YES, I AM alive!!!!!!!!!! What a surprise, huh? I'm loving The OC Even more, even though I didn't think it was possible. I finally got to meet that kid Oliver, like Ryan says. Ohmigosh, he makes you wanna die!! Ok, overreacting, but Marissa was very immature, I think. Anyways, I miss you guys! Hope we can talk later on.
About 'updates', um, I put a lot of new pics of Mischa in the galery. But, I've already put 50 photos in my galery, so I'm thinking of what I should do, to put some more. Of course I'm not erasing any of them, I think I'm making a new journal to put other pics. What do u think?
Oh, don't miss Mischa on May Seventeen!!
Here is the interview they put on the web:
Don't call Mischa Barton an overnight success. The rising star of The O.C. has been a working actress since the age of eight—and credits her success not to lucky breaks or being part of the Hollywood scene, but to hard work and dedication.
We thought you'd have a British accent.
I did when I was very little, because I moved to New York when I was four. I was born in London, and so were my two sisters. My mother's Irish—she went to school in London when she was young—but she's full-on Irish, you can trace it back as far as you want. My father is from Manchester, England, with the accent.
But you grew up in America.
Yeah—I consider myself American, and so does my family. I have a British passport, an Irish passport, and an American green card.
And a Russian name.
My parents thought that Mischa was a cool name. Who knows what they were thinking? As a kid I hated it, but it works.
Did you think about acting or modeling, growing up in New York?
Not at all. My mom did some photography—she's a real free spirit—so she encouraged us to do what we wanted. She sent us off to camp in upstate New York one summer, when I was eight. We put on a play for our parents—I performed this monologue about turtles—and I was discovered. They tried to convince my mom that I had stage presence!
How did you get the part of Marissa?
I was going to school in New York, and I was booked on an episode of [O.C. executive producer] McG's [now cancelled] show Fastlane. I did one episode in Los Angeles, which took a week. Then McG brought it up that [series creator] Josh Schwartz was writing this script, and that I'd be perfect for it. I read for the part right there in the office, they took it to the network, and that was it—I had the role.
I went back to New York and I waited to find out if they'd found the boy. They had a lot of boys read for Ryan's character, and then when they found Ben McKenzie they called me, and we shot the pilot. Then I went back to New York and went to my prom.
